So the other day Conner came home from school and I asked him how it went. He said oh fine except this girl was talking potty talk. I said really what did she say, expecting poop and pee talk. He told me what she Said which had to do with privates parts. I was a little shocked, and asked what he did. He said he told her " no boy is going to want to marry you if you talk about their private parts." I was shocked by how strong he was, this is a little girl he likes but he stuck up for himself. By the way this is kindergarten.

Conner is so amazing many times he a better example to me then I am to him. Today he took two Books of Mormon to school to give to his friends. The funny thing is he had to pick the one girl who is kind of a class bully and her mama seems pretty scary. Okay I am judging and until today I hadn't even talked to kaylin hignbothom's mom but from what I have seen she seems a little scary. Anyway Conner was sure he enter to give her the book so I let him do it with the faith that it would be ok. Anyhow I decided I should mention to mrs hignbothom that Conner thinks her daughter is really nice and he wanted her to have the book because he thinks it is very special. So with a prayer I walked up to her and asked to talk to her. At first she wasn't very friendly but after I explained she smiled and said ok. I felt a little better, then I asked Conner what kaylin said he got very excited and told me how happy she was that he had given it to her. Then he told me about the other boy who I know a little better and wasn't so worried about. But Conner was glad he had shared it with them , he knew that they would be excited to be given something and that he was giving them an amazing gift he is proud of his testimony and he wants to share that.
I was so proud of my 6 year old he has such a wonderful attitude about sharing his beliefs. I need to remember to before like him.

This was one of my favorite Christmas gifts this year. Summer was so excited to give it to me although she told me she was going to give me a stuffed horse that will turn real. I told her the gift she gave me was perfect. Conner was pretty sure he was giving me a real bunny he felt bad that he never made it to the pet store, I think it's best he didn't make it. I love Christmas! This year we drove to Shelley to be with steve's family. This year we let the kids see Santa, I know I know we are ruining our kids by lying to them but I loved it. Steve's dad dressed up like Santa and we woke the kids up at 6:30 when it was still dark and let them peek at him from the stairs then we all snuck giggling to bed and waited for 30 minutes for Santa to leave :) then the craziness began. We took a break at 9 for church then came back for more gifts.

We had a wonderful thanksgiving. We went to Utah to be with my side of the family. We had a huge dinner that tasted wonderful.
Then we shopped the black Friday sales which is my favorite part about thanksgiving. Steve went snowmobiling with Wayne. Then we stayed at little America in salt lake the kids loved it we swam and went the planetarium and saw aurther Christmas. Then we saw the lights at temple square.

Last night was pumpkin night we had meal in a pumpkin which I actually liked this year! I guess squash has grown on me:). The kids still aren't sold but steve loves it and I love him so I will always make it no matter how much the kids complain. So I know that Heavenly Father watches out for these little ones. Today I was with some friends, we were packing up all of our stuff to leave , my good friend asked if I wanted Carly buckled in her seat I said no cause I was going to feed her before I got I the car but go a head an put her in her seat and I will go sit on a different bench. Then I got this strong feeling to say well at least do her chest strap. A few minutes later I grabbed the handle to lift the carrier and the handle wasn't click in causing the carrier to tip forward. So basically Carly would have dumped out onto the concrete if I had not listened to that prompting. This is the second time that exact same thing has happened so I am grateful the holy ghost still prompts us even if we didn't learn from the first time

So Carly is almost 7 months now and I just got her in for her 6month check up any how she is now 16.8 lbs which is in the 50% she is 27 1/2 inches 90% and her head is 17 3/4 also 90%:) she is doing so good she loves to eat mostly pears, and is so happy all the time even though she just got two little front teeth in on the bottom

Oh my little man cracks me up. Today he came home and locked himself in summers room and told her he was making a surprise for her. After a while he came out and showed her that he had cleaned her room. She was so excited! Then they played so nice together summer was a puppy and Conner was the owner. I love having summer in ballet. She is so sweet and actually she isn't to bad which must come from the jolley side of the jeans cuz I was no dancer. Summer loved doing dance much last year there was no question about doing it again. I love to see her dance and sing she always has music in her heart. Summer is so sweet she Is always trying to be good at everything she does. I hope to teach her not to be too hard on herself.

Summer us one of the most kind hearted people I know. She is an example to me of someone who sincerely is always thinking of others. A while ago steve told me a story about summer. He said that while they where driving in the car summer found some gum, she loves gum. She ripped the piece in half to give some to Conner first thing. Then gave him his piece then ripped her half in half to give some to steve she was 3 at the time . Who says little ones don't share?

Turning 30

Well today I turned 30 for some reason I never thought this day would come. I had an amazing day the kids and steve made me fruit salad for breakfast in bed, then I had time to run on my treadmill. I know that sounds horrible to some people but to me that was perfect. Later I took the kids to school and steve picked me up and took me to lunch at red sky BBQ. Then I came home read my book The Help. And relaxed until I had to get the kids. After I picked up the kids we came home and did home work till steve came home. He had asked Jeanette sproul and makayla to baby sit and we went and played tennis something I love to do on my birthday because he has to be patient with my crappy tennis skills. I love to play then we grabbed some dinner and picked up the kids. The last thing we did was a DQ run. I am so blessed and grateful for all my friends and family who made my birthday amazing

Every year we go to heber for labor day I love it. We always go to Swiss days a craft show that is amazing. First day of kindergarten

I freaked out! I never thought i would but I did! I went to drop him off and was nervous when I looked at the type of kids he was going to school with, not to be judgmental but I guess that is what I am one 5 year old had his ear pierced with a hoop. Then they had the kids line up and us line up they took the kids and sent us to get visitor tags after stand on line with a lot of crazy looking parents they said we didn't need passes and to go to our kids class I get there and Conner isn't there lucky for me he showed up with some other teacher just as I was wondering where the heck is my kid? I guess he got lost :( so I go In look around the class and find one little boy who we know I left him there after embarrassing him by kissing him goodbye. I then drop Summer at preschool. As I go to drive off I can't ins the keys . 40 minutes I dug through my purse and dug in the truck by now Carly is crying and we are hot I called steve who left work and came. He dumped out my bags and there they were, I finally cried and said it was so hard to leave him there

Jenny and ran in the Swiss days 10k. This was my first race and I am pretty excited about it I ran it 6.2 miles in 45 min. I finished 2nd in my age group. This was pretty good since we drove to heber that night at 2 am I slept in the car and woke up after3 hours of sleep at moms house then ran so it went way better then I thought it would.

It's that time again.! WE had our little family night of putting up the Christmas tree, Steve was happy because this year he gets a real Tree I told him if we stay home for Christmas we can buy a tree. We made yummy carmel popcorn and Hot punch. Then we Read the Polar Express I love all of these traditions.

Conner and Summer got their Santa letters all written and sent off. Conner Wants all how to train your dragon toys and Summer wants polly pockets and a Vanity from Tangled the movie poor girl really she just wants long hair.

Summer goes to Preschool

Summer started preschool this november, she is going to the Headstart preschool which is so exciting. She is getting a little extra help with her speech while she it there. She loves it! we went a picked out a new outfit for her first day of school. She was so excited she jumped on the bus without even saying good bye. I was nervous for her so I made Conner get in the Mini Van and we fallowed her bus to school. We sat there and watched her get off her little bus and go into school. I cried a tiny bit but only because I was so proud of her and can't believe how big she is. She loves school and has been singing a bubble gum song ever since she started. She thinks she is pretty big now. It is so fun to see your kid feel proud of themselves. Conner goes to preschool too but he goes to one that me and a few other mama's take turns teaching.

crew it was so nice. Toothless the Dragon and Cindrella

Conner is still in love with How to Train Your Dragon and wanted nothing other then a Toothless costume, He helped me create this one which I am very

proud of. Conner was very specific about the color and how the tail looked he sat by me and told me if it was ok or if I needed to change something In the end I was sick of sewing and happy to see Conner feel like he had the coolest costume ever.

Summer loves Princesses and wanted to be Cinderella even though there is a mean kitty in the movie so she doesn't like to watch it. Summer thought she was the beautiful in her Dinderbella costume this is how she says cinderella so cute. the best part of this picture is her shoes, I guess she wasn't as picky as conner when it came to the costume. I sometimes hate sewing but this was worth all of the Hours Spent my kids where so happy and loved helping me the entire time.

WE had a great Halloween Pahrump has the best weather for it, the kids don't even have to wear coats with their costumes. WE had a great month we Went to a pumpkin patch and got to go on hay rides and find our way through a maze. Then we went to a pumpkin carving party at our friends the Jensens. Later on we Went to our ward party and trunk or treat, my parents came up for that which was lots of fun. The next day was Halloween on a Sunday which was also the day that Steve got put into the Bishopric as the 2nd counselor so his parents drove down here for that. Conner and Summer had a great time carving pumpkins with Grampa Jolley. Then they went to our friend's house to trick or treat.

WE love Lake Powell! it was even better this year because we actually own the boat. this is exciting for the Jolley Family because we have always wanted a boat, Steve saved all his little pennies and got a really nice boat we are really enjoying it. This party went really well Conner was so happy. I was even happy that my Toothless the dragon cake turned out to look pretty good. Conner told me that it wasn't exactly Toothless because Toothless is black and had Blue fire not red. Steve told me it looked like a newt which it does but what can i say I am only human. Either way Conner was the happiest 5 year old ever at least that is what he told me before he kissed me good night last night, that made it all worth while. Now i am ready to go pass out in bed good night

Conner's Birthday Big # 5

Conner turned 5 years old and boy did we party! His birthday was on friday and we stayed home all day. Conner didn't even want to go to Mc Donalds for lunch with steve until we told him he could have a happy meal. He was very with breakfast in bed new toys time playing with us and fried shrimp for dinner. I think he was saving up all his energy for the next day which was the big birthday party. Conner finally changed from shark boy to Dragon boy and requested a how to train your dragon birthday party. it was great we had about 25 kids show up although we had planed on even more then that, we then painted shields and played games. Conner even had a special show from our Hawaiian neighbor who does knows how to throw fire. That was really cool for a dragon birthday the kids loved it he did a great job. The kids got to finish off with a pinata. I love Pinatas that is my favorite part of Birthdays I think its because it gives me an excuse to buy the big bag of candy filled with flavored tootsie rolls I love the lemon ones.

WE loved Disney Land, I think that was the best thanksgiving ever. We drove down on Tuesday and met up with my family We headed straight for Disney land It was great. We then went over to eat dinner with goofy The kids where so excited to see all of the characters, Summer fell in love with Mini Mouse and the Princeses. WE went back to the park and rode a few rides then took the kids back to the hotel My mom stayed there while steve and I went back. It was so much fun to be alone with Steve there. We ran from ride to ride it was fun we got back after 1:00 AM which is way late for us. The next morning we were back at the park Early The kids where thrilled. we spent a lot of time in California Adventure which was so much fun I Loved Tower of Terror but Conner didn't Poor kid he was horrified. He rode on every ride he was tall enough for and loved all of them except that one and the haunted house. Summer Was also a trooper and rode the roller costers with her arms up and a smile on her face. We went back to the hotel for a short nap then went back to the park with the kids we stayed until late that night so the kids could see the Fantasmic show and the fire works the kids loved it Conner was positive that Micky Mouse was the king and full of magic. Then it snowed Fake snow but Wow that was really cool The kids where thrilled we don't see a lot of snow anymore so that was fun. On thanksgiving we had magic morning passes so we got there at 7 And got on all of the rides we had missed Conner Loved the Finding Nemo Ride so we went on it two times. Summer loved all of the rides except the Madderhorn We stayed all day We were all so tired after But it was so much fun. It was so nice to be there with my family conner loves his cousins it was so much fun

We went and saw the Circus Du Soleil Show Love which is all to the Beatles Music. We loved The show i couldn't belive how good it was i have never seen any thing like it. The music was so much fun of course My family has always loved the beatles. Jenny had to fly home the next day but my mom stayed with us here in Pahrump for a few days which was so nice. It was so nice to have them come I am so blessed to have such a good family

I don't know what Summer loved the most about swimming lessons, maybe it was the water maybe it was her teacher or maybe it was just that she got to wear her swimming suit every single day. She loves her swimming suits, she tries to wear them every day i have had to hide them from her. One day after swimming I buckeled her into her car seat and she started screaming, I was shocked I thought maybe i had thought I had pinched her leg in the buckel then i noticed that I the ruffel of her swimming suit was caught in her buckel not her skin. sometimes she makes me laugh so hard, she also did really good at swimming i am so glad my kids know how to swim

My kids loved the 4th of July! They both have this funny thing for the American Flag and make it a point to let me know any time they spot one. So both where so excited to wear their flag shirts. We drove to Manan ID by Rigby and had dinner at Steve's aunt Carol's house. Steve has some of the best aunts on both sides of the family they always have something going on. When Steve's brother got married they decided to decorate our car too of course we had been married for two years and had a baby already, so ever since then they try to get our car. thankfully they where two busy to get it this time They really are so funny any how back the fourth. so we ate at carols with a hug group of family members Then headed to the park to see the fire work show. The kids loved it except the loud ones conner said he didn't like them.

So My Husband is so Hot and boy does he look good on that wake board. He also makes it look very easy and lands almost every jump right out of the wake I love to wakeboard with him. Kailey did a pretty good job getting a picture of me too. The kids had a great time on the tub, conner did get dumped out and cried when the shock of the cold water set in poor kid he hates being cold I can't blame him.

We got to spend the 4th with the entire Jolley Clan. It was quite the event. we Drove for 10 hours all night and Bryce and Natali drove for 12 hours. I am pretty sure we all felt it was worth it. We spent all of Friday out on FREEZING jem lake, I swear the water was in the forties or fifties I froze but the weather wasn't so bad it wasn't the 103 that we have had here in Pahrump which was nice for a change. we are now some of the lucky few to actually have a patch of grass in our back yard. Steve has worked so hard on the back yard and it is finally paying off. half of the yard is still dirt but we are happy with what we have.

We had a dino party it all started with making prehistoric slime then a dig for bones then a dino egg hunt, a few more games, Dino Food and a cake with a firy volcano. The party ended with my favorite party game a Pinata I love Love Love Pinatas they are so much fun! We had a good time, Conner had a great time he has so many nice friends and got great gifts. Steve's Parents came which made the whole thing a hundred times less stressful.

Happy Graduation

Conner graduated from preschool, steve was wondering if it is really a graduation if he is going to repeat the classes again in September. But it was still a lot of fun. Everyone did such a good job making it special. Conner was so excited all day he kept saying it is my special day. He is so cute and loves any reason to celebrate.

Geocaching

This is one of the funnest things our family has done some of you may have heard of this but if not check it out. you can google geocaching and it will bring up the website. it is like a treasure hunt and as you can see Conner thought he was a true pirate with his sword. We had a blast and it is free what a great family activity. I learned about it at Enrichment so see it is worth going.

What a great book

I read a really good book this month. I really recommend it and am actually re reading it aloud to Steve just becasue I want to talk to him about it. It is a very fast read it even took me less time then Twillight so get ready to sit down and do nothing but read.

We were so excited to have family come see us. Steve's brother Dallin and his wife Haily came along with Steve's sister Kailey. We such a good time it was fun to show them around Pahrump although there isn't much to see. We also went out to Death Valley which was beautiful I was suprised by how much I liked it.

How can we not love the beach! We tried to spend as much time as we could on the beach. The kids are little fish that is for sure. We even saw turtles!

snorkeling

WE had a great time snorkeling in Hawaii. This was the one thing Steve wanted to do. It was so cool I even saw a sea turtle. Conner was so brave, he jumped off the side of the boat and snorkeled like a pro. I am always amazed by how good of a swimmer he is. Steve and I also went snorkeling just the two of us which was so cool I couldn't belive all of the fish we saw. This was Steve's favorite part of the trip

Aloha! We just got back from and awsome trip to Hawaii! It was fantastic. My whole family went, which really isn't a huge group, but it was just perfect. I can't wait to show you all my pics. We stayed on Oahu at a beautiful resort. Everyone loved it, Steve said it was his favorite vacation.

Lettus Wraps

I have had a lot of requests for this recipe so I decided to just post it. It is a really good recipe. Let me know how it works
Ingredients
3 tablespoons oil
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup water chestnut
2/3 cup mushroom
3 tablespoons chopped onions
1 teaspoon minced garlic
4-5 leaves iceberg lettuce
Special Sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon hot mustard
2 teaspoons water
1-2 teaspoon garlic and red chile paste
Stir Fry Sauce
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
Taste it and add more if it needs it
Fried Rice noodles
· Dry rice noodles
· Oil
Directions
Make the special sauce by dissolving the sugar in water in a small bowl.
Add soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ketchup, lemon juice and sesame oil.
Mix well and refrigerate this sauce until you're ready to serve.
Combine the hot water with the hot mustard and set this aside as well.
Eventually add your desired measurement of mustard and garlic chili sauce to the special sauce mixture to pour over the wraps.
Bring oil to high heat in a wok or large frying pan.
Saute chicken breasts for 4 to 5 minutes per side or done.
Remove chicken from the pan and cool.
Keep oil in the pan, keep hot.
As chicken cools mince water chestnuts and mushrooms to about the size of small peas.
Prepare the stir fry sauce by mixing the soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar together in a small bowl.
When chicken is cool, mince it as the mushrooms and water chestnuts are.
Make the Fried rice noodles by heating oil in a fry pan Add small amounts of rice noodles let them fry until they puff up, take them off and let them drain extra oil on a paper towel. I like to add a little salt to them.
With the pan still on high heat, add another Tbsp of vegetable oil.
Add chicken, garlic, onions, water chestnuts and mushrooms to the pan.
Add the stir fry sauce to the pan and saute the mixture for a couple minutes then serve it in the lettuce"cups". And fried noodles
Top with"Special Sauce". Serve with Chili paste and Mustard

Happy Birthday Steve!

Steve turned 29 this Month which was a lot of fun. For his birthday he took the day off and we worked on the back yard which may not sound like a lot of fun but that is all he wanted to do. He also wanted a Perkins Cream Pie which is not easy to find in Paharump so I did my best to make him one. I even tried my own crust and to be honest it wasn't to bad. So here is a pic of the kids helping me make the Birthday Pie

So our friend from the yard sale showed up again! this time he brought us a swing set. We love this guy! Conner and Summer have had a blast these are pictures of Conner and his friends Eli and Gent. He also go His great gramps to test it out. Great gramps is my grandpa and is 87 he is the most fun. Gramps and My grandma or great Nan to conner came to see us for a few days we had so much fun. So Steve is the Best! For the Longest time I have wanted to see the Musical Mama Mia. I love ABBA and loved the movie, so I was really looking forward to seeing the play because it was playing in Vegas. I had originally planed on seeing the play with my mom and sister this spring for my mom's birthday. But I found out that the they were ending the musical at the begining of January. I was so sad, but little did I know that my husband had gotten tickets to the second to last showing of it and found a friend to babysit. I had no Idea! I was so supirised and excited when he took me because lets be honest Steve really isn't a Musical type of guy, He is just the best. I loved the play and more then anything I loved my husband even more

So the Thrift Stores Here are Great! A few months ago I found this big light at one of them and got it and two smaller ones for 40 bucks but I didn't love the color it was silver and gold and to fancy for my taste so I decided to paint it. Now I love it!

they look so funny in their little car driving down the street I love it! We got this car for Christmas from a man who steve met at a yard sale. He stopped by again the other day with another power wheels and gave it to us. So now conner has a four wheeler too. What a spoiled little boy. I am so impresssed with how well he can drive it.

Dairy Day

Conner's Preschool group took a field trip to the local Dairy. He was so excited to see were milk comes from but he was most impressed with all of the big Trucks and tractors go figure.

Christmas Morning

OH Christmas was wonderful We spent Christmas in Heber this year and My sister Jenny came with her family. There where so many gifts. Steve and I had wanted to get a kitchen for the kids so I had been looking for one. I just happened to be driving by a yard sale up the rode and saw one. Steve went and picked it up for 15 dollars I was thrilled. Then the next day as we were leaving for church a man stoped by with a truck load of toys, Steve had talked to him at the yard sale. So for another 35$ we got a play house, a power wheels car that steve painted red, a little slide, a kid piano, a stroller, and a bunch more. we couldn't even bring half of it down with us. So Christmas this year was awsome thanks to a few nice people and some great yard sales. Conner was also happy to get a garbage truck and a fire truck from my parents, he had origanlly asked for a car carrier truck which my dad had for him but he changed his mind the monday before Christmas which sent us into a searching frenzy but all ended up well. Merry Christmas
